Dickcissel (Spiza americana) are known as "nomadic nesters" of the North American grasslands. We've had them around the last couple of years, but they seem to like showing up late in the nesting season, and then suddenly start singing everywhere late-June/early-July. The male was singing in the north prairie of Afton State Park, Minnesota on June 30, 2023. Also audible in recording, Indigo Bunting and Field Sparrow.
Captured on my Panasonic Lumix, including onboard audio.
