Years ago I planted a red-violet Allium- probably Purple Sensation from bulbs. They have seeded in and probably divided a bit here and there. This could be a division of another bulb, though more likely it was from seed, a white offspring from the purple parents (not an uncommon thing with plants descended from hybrids or chance varieties/mutations). In any case, these tiny bees and beetles seem quite happy to visit this flower, whatever the colour.. It occurs to me now I may have seen more bumblebees on the purple..
