Somehow most of the train cars on the Cascades line were slowly corroding, but Amtrak didn't notice. When they finally caught it on March 26th of 2025, they shut down train service and removed the cars. By April 6th, they had replaced all of the cars with equipment from other lines and restored full train service to the Cascades line.
