We had some pretty strong winds a few times in the last couple of weeks- I showed some other videos with blowing snow etc, and I'll be making a blog post to pull it all together along with some photos of drifts along the road, etc (luckily I didn't have to be on the road any of the windy times, I bet visibility was very poor at times and places). After the windiest night, I found a number of trees down on the acreage and places on the farm where I harvest firewood (might have been another 1 or 2 in following days, not sure.) None fell in places where they caused damage, and unlike some that came down in the summer, all were already dead. In fact, most of them seem to have been really nice dry wood, great for firewood! So I've been thanking Wind Mother and Great Mother for the bounty. Last winter, especially late in the year and into spring, I was having a hard time finding good dry wood to cut, this year I think I will have more than enough.
After the Wind: Trees Down= More Firewood
