This gorilla mum is taking good care of her baby (born on 15 March 2014). Although being in the group, she is not engaging in interaction with her fellow group members and doesn't go outside. She protects and caress her three-weeks old baby constantly. Madrid Zoo breeding track record for their western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) show other births on 20 December 2007 and 9 July 2011.
