San Diego Zoo has several enclosures with various African species of gazelle on display. The animals are housed species by species such as Cuvieri gazelle, southern gerenuk, Arabian oryx, with just a few individuals per species. Finally, at the end of this row of ungulate enclosures, a mixed species exhibit with a savannah-like habitat can be found comprising Speke's gazelle, lesser kudu and southern gerenuk. The Speke’s gazelle males display their natural behaviour when they test each other’s strength, with the stronger male allowing the weaker male a dignified exit.
