In early April Russian media published statements of army commanders who spoke a lot about protecting the monastery in Gornal which was fortified by Ukrainian forces defending in Kursk oblast'. The command declared they have no order to assault the monastery and they will be protecting it at all cost, and destruction is unlikely because Ukrainian forces are surrounded and will be forced to surrender.
