Yesterday we ran home to hide from Storm Franklin and 60mph winds. Today we are back and have fitted our first storage drawers. Probably the cheapest storage drawers you can find for your boat refit. Thanks Ikea for the Trofast drawer boxes (£2 for the thin ones, £3.50 for the deeper ones).

We fitted drawers under the new galley worktop and will add them to the aft cabin "wardrobes" and the forward head "wardrobes".

We are going to try producing short daily vlogs of our progress during this half term.

We are refitting a 45year old Rival 38 for a Sustainable Sailing retirement in a few years. Two years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all electric (motor, cooking etc). All the rigging is being replaced with Dyneema and we are significantly re-working the cabins.
