look mom i learned how to filter out frequencies! that sounds really easy, and it is, but every previous time i tried it didn't work, and it turns out the reason was because something something harmonics. idk exactly what that means, but i do know that in addition to filtering out the peak frequency, i also need to filter out the frequency which is double that one. so like, the squeak is roughly 7000 hz, so i need to filter out both that as well as 14000 hz. i actually went and got the peak frequencies of each individual squeak, since they're each every so slightly different, so each one is filtered out in the (hopefully) most optimal way. it's still not perfect, but it is Good Enough i think. the song is actually listenable now
