In this Midday Briefing, the EU spokesperson discusses the most recent things affecting the European Commission. The annual UN climate change conference, or COP29, will be taking place from 11-22 November in Baku, Azerbaijan. As part of their groundbreaking travel policies, EU diplomats have some plans in place to fight climate change... by not (entirely) taking private jets there. The six-month Hungarian Council Presidency is underway, with a meeting taking place in Budapest, and not everyone is thrilled. Soon, the second von der Leyen commission will begin - and so it is time to say goodbye to the old College of European Commissioners. Some will be missed, and some... not so much. In other (old) news, Ursula von der Leyen will not let go of her beloved pony, Dolly, and continues her quest for vengeance. Lastly, the European Commission has its own way to target young EU voters, getting inspiration from other influencers. Watch now!
