In this Midday Briefing, the EU spokesperson addresses the most recent things happening in the EU. First and foremost, a congratulations to Switzerland's Nemo for winning the Eurovision Song Contest - which is NOT a European institution. June marks the time for the European Parliament elections, and our spokesperson reiterates that EC president von der Leyen has no intention to work with the far-right: a list of candidates has been compiled for your convenience. Spoksperson Funkyboogaloo-Smythe also notes Rishi Sunak's admirable election campaign and his dramatic speech in the pouring rain. In other news, Angela Merkel is releasing a 700-page autobiographical book, which President von der Leyen is keen on imitating. Finally, the Commission recently completed a trial scheme on bringing pets to the office and is proposing an internal policy.
