It's taken some time to arrive this winter but at last we have some excellent snowshoeing conditions in Spain's Sierra Nevada. We managed to get our cars to 150m below the Hoya del Portillo before we had to abandon them and don our snowshoes. These remained on as we headed up to the Puerta Molina with stunning views over the main peaks.

Then we headed cross country eastwards before plunging downhill over open snow bowls and then into dense forests before reaching the cars. A superb 4 hour snowshoe tour. Didn't see another soul!
