Russian military blogger Kirill Fedorov tells a story of how he once visited occupied Mariupol where he "bought a Mercedes with Ukrainian numbers" (read: stolen one) and he went to a petrol station, where a girl told him "hello, can you place your payment card on the reader" in Ukrainian. In response he explains how he forcibly took her to the nearest military checkpoint where she was detained. He uses term "на подвал" ("to the basement") which has an especially ominous meaning in the context of Donbas, as it refers to civilians captured by Russian occupational authorities and literally kept in basements for months, tortured.
