Azerbeijan security services detained Russian FSB officers working undercover in Sputnik-Azerbeijan office in Baku. This follows fast deterioration of Azerbeijan-Russia relations after two Azeri nationals died in Russian police custody after a raid, in which police in Yekaterniburg detained over 50 Azeris, claiming a 2001 (!) killing investigation. This in turn followed Russia accidentally shooting down Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243 in December 2024 which Russia never formally admitted or apologised for, limiting its response to vague "condolences related to air accident", followed by rather arrogant fakes and propaganda, which caused outrage in Azerbeijan.
