Let's take a look at this vintage Toshiba Satellite Pro 400CS, running Windows 95! This machine, built in early 1995, is rocking a 75MHz Pentium CPU, 40MB of RAM, a Chips & Technology graphics chip, and a 1.4GB hard drive. It's more of a professional-grade laptop, and would have carried a price tag to suit!
It's kind of wild that it took me such a long time to produce this video. Compared to my previous YouTube videos, this is very high effort! It's amazing what I can achieve when I'm not being a lazy sack and actually put a bit of care into my videos. Sure, I'm limited by the equipment and the space that I have, but even though it was kind of a pain to make, I think I still had a good time!
I had a bit of assistance from ChatGPT in making this video (chiefly in terms of ideas and script writing) and I got much of the information from Wikipedia, the official manual for this machine (which can still be found on Dynabook's website: https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1073769746), and a bit of knowledge I already had. All of the music and sound effects came from Pixabay, and all of the video editing and transcoding took place on my main PC running Garuda Linux, DaVinci Resolve, Inkscape, and a little bit of Natron. Kdenlive helped with transcoding, until it wouldn't.
Obviously, the video's image quality isn't tip-top shape, I did encode it in a smaller video format for this particular platform. But YouTube is off the table, so I'm not worried about it!
