Historical footnote!
This is the oldest video that was on my YouTube channel before I privatized it. It was originally uploaded on November 6, 2010. I was 13 at the time of this video's original publication. This video shows a 1997 Compaq Presario 2200 the day I received it from eBay. I recall that it shipped from a seller in Alberta, the same province I live in.
This is the first machine that kicked off my computer collection, which now consists of over 60 individual machines. I still have it, nearly 15 years later, and it (probably) still works. It's been in a storage unit for the past 3 years but recently, I brought it back home.
This particular machine still remains the only machine in my collection to have a Cyrix processor, specifically a 180MHz Cyrix Media GXi. It also has a whopping 64MB or 80MB of EDO RAM (I really cannot remember), and originally shipped with a Quantum Bigfoot hard drive, though I never got that drive. At the time I got it, it was around 13 years old. It is now around 28 years old, almost as old as I am, probably by just a few months!
So, sit back and watch a video of 13-year old me talk about a machine nearly as old as I am, that I recorded on a russet-brown potato!
