Charles Kinsey had his arms up and was on his back on the ground when police shot him. Mr Kinsey was doing his job, trying to help an autistic adult return to a group home, when police showed up, shot him, and handcuffed him while claiming they believed the autistic adult who was playing with a toy truck was actually a suicidal individual holding a gun (despite Mr. Kinsey clearly and repeatedly shouting the truth of the situation to the police). The cop who shot Mr. Kinsey received only a misdemeanor and probation, with even that misdemeanor remaining off his criminal record.
