A resident of Pokrovsk refuses to evacuate from the city, which Russia is destroying with artillery, because she speaks Russian and is afraid to go to western Ukraine. When volunteers offer to evacuate her to Irpen, where half the population is Russian-speaking, the woman also refuses, claiming that ‘speaking Russian is forbidden’ in Ukraine. This is a lie that the woman could only have heard from one source: Russian propagandists. They literally intimidate such people, convincing them that it is better to sit under bombs and artillery fire than to save their lives and move to other regions of Ukraine. Notably, their conversation is interrupted by an drone flying nearby. Russian propaganda is literally killing civilians in the besieged towns. In reality, many people in Ukraine speak Russian and it's not "banned", only it's no longer the official language. At the same time on the Russian-occupied territory speaking Ukrainian actually gets people jailed.
