EPEC-EPSC #PlanetaryScience4All EPSC 2020 competition entry: Grace Richards is a PhD student at The Open University. The title of her PhD is "The feasibility of in situ VOC analysis on icy moons". Her research focuses on astrobiology.
About Grace Richards: I'm a first-year PhD student at The Open University and I research icy moons, space weathering processes and instrumentation. The main aim of my PhD is to develop instrumentation to analyse volatile organic compounds on the surface of Enceladus. Analysing icy moon surfaces can give us a better understanding of whether or not they could be habitable environments. In order to develop equipment best-suited to Enceladus' surface, I am researching surface processes such as plume deposition, E-ring deposition and interaction with Saturn's magnetosphere.
