The composite material (COMP) files for a Flight Simulator 2020 livery store information on the three color channels: red, green, and blue. When you want to make changes to these materials, but keep an organized & layered workflow, you'll need to separate out your edits using adjustment layers. In this video, I show you how to maintain flexibility in your work that allow you to make non-destructive edits that can be tweaked and adjusted easily.

All four of my Photoshop documents (Engines, Wings, Fuselage, and Tail), and a completed Flight Sim livery for the Beechcraft King Air airframe are available here: https://flightsim.to/file/1127/lincoln-penny-a-textured-metallic-tutorial-livery-with-layered-psds-included

Download the files, explore how they're organized, and play around to find combinations of texture and color that tickle your fancy.
