Alexandr Kuznetsov ("Ratibor") happily tells a Russian journalist that the first combat assignment of the newly formed PMC "Wagner" was in Ukraine in 2014. The group under command of Dmitry Utkin entered Luhansk oblast' in August 2014, capturing Luhansk airport and prepared ground for future combat missions. As a reminder, Russia until 2022 claimed it's not a party of the conflict in Ukraine and those fighting there are "miners who stood up against the regime". In reality the war in Donbas in 2014 was started by Russian special forces who remained there for all the period till 2022, while endless stream of Russian weapons and ammunition poured through the border.
