A beautiful summer day, 21C/70F with a mix of sun and cloud. Everything is green and there are flowers everywhere. Bees, flower flies, pollinating wasps, beetles and butterflies flit and buzz and zoom, and birds sing from the trees. In honour of the Summer Solstice, the big day for Saule/Sun, we celebrate her collaboration with Great Mother/Mara whose body/Earth and living Waters bring forth Life in such abundance, imbued with Saule's energy.

I wash the wooden outdoor altar bench in preparation and lay an altar with plants, flowers, leaves, pieces of wood and stones, blessing it again once finished, with Water. Robin sings hymns ot Great Mother from the trees as accompaniment, along with some other birds (he sings so constantly, I actually wonder if he's lost his mate..)

As the clouds come over for a while, you can see me wave away mosquitoes, as one buzzes the camera microphone! Generally they haven't been bad this year... Then the sun comes out again, and the flowers and leaves bask in the light and moisture.
