Unlike the Master Lock 1, 3, and 5 - all of which are White Belt¹ level locks - the Master Lock 141 is a Yellow Belt level, and I figured I'd try to film my first attempt at it. Two minutes doesn't seem too bad!
The problem was that I was not expecting the lock to have a spring. So, my tension tool fell off the moment it was picked, and I thought I had to start over again... but found that the lock did indeed unlock!
In my future attempts (not recorded), I got the lock open in about 5 seconds, but then I haven't been able to pick the lock at all. The problem I'm having is being able to tension the lock from the top-of-the-keyway. There's so little space for it, but after a few hours of on-and-off fidgeting, I managed to find a way to tension it and get it opened fairly quickly (<10 seconds) and consistently!
¹Belts??? The Lockpickers United created this neat ranking system based off of Karate Belts for a person to convey what skill level they are at. Even better, they've ranked several locks based on picking difficulty which makes for a great way to find locks above, below, or at your skill level.
