VOODOO BLUES | "I Put a Spell on You" on the Electric Baritone Guitar

time2 yr agoview0 views

Whether it's the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version, the CCR version, the Nina Simone version... whatever... this song always conjures that black magic vibe! It's always been one of my favorite melodies, and I covered it on my "Drivin' it Down" album a couple years back with 3x GRAMMY winner, Bill Miller, on vocals. I've never done an instrumental or solo guitar arrangement of it, but when I got this new Baritone guitar model from Little Crow Guitars, it felt like it was custom made for this song! The baritone guitar is tuned lower than a standard guitar, but not quite as low as a bass, so I can play those bass notes and guitar melodies at the same time and it sounds darker, lower, and more powerful than a standard guitar.
