I used to use Unity...that was years ago, but still. Due to recent events, I'll be talking about Unity and how it ironically unites us...in learning the Godot game engine, a wonderful alternative and how it can be used to create a fee-free indie game development environment!

If you're an indie game developer and want to create a game without spending any money, then you need to check out Godot. It's literally perfect for indie game development by getting out of your way, both monetarily and technically! Unity and Godot are both great tools, but one cares about it's users far more than the other, just something to consider. Though Unity may be good to build up skills for a career, I do believe there are other better ways, a large amount of skills are transferable between engines.
