10 February 2022, Sergey Lavrov announces "return of our troops after exercise" and ridicules the idea of Russian invasion on Ukraine two weeks before the start of Russian invasion on Ukraine. Russian troops of course largely did not "return to bases", instead they invaded Ukraine on all directions from Russia and Belarus.
