Journalist asks "what were your emotions about it?", he answers "none" - this is a fragment of a conversation between Slidstvo journalist Vladyslava Kobko and Russian soldier Nikolay Kartashev in the Kyiv pre-trial detention centre. He is one of the few people who are not being tried in absentia for the killings in Bucha. This is a unique interview in which the Pskov paratrooper confesses to his own crimes and turns in his commanders. In the special report ‘Bucha: Confessions of a Russian Soldier’, dedicated to the third anniversary of the de-occupation of the city, we show new evidence of torture, rape and murder of local residents in Bucha and Irpin by Russians. This material includes never-before-published videos and investigative experiments. It also tells the story of five crimes committed by just one small group of Russian paratroopers in a month in this town. The original story was published on Slidstvo YouTube channel and the sole purpose of posting it on PeerTube is censorship circumvention, so if you can watch it on YT please do for the benefit of the journalists.
