Russian journalist Aleksandr Kazakov speaking on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio says a series of phrases that were so far carefully avoided in the public space in official Russian media. Kazakov says that, yes, Russians are dying in the war and they will continue to die - because Russia has started the war. He reminds the listeners that last year, on the presidential "elections" the vast majority of Russians did support the Putin's course, so they should not be surprised at all. And you should be not surprised, he adds, that "our towns are being shelled", because it's war and when one side fires, the other responds. Such a brutal honesty in official Russian media is a rarity, as so far the government policy was to "shield" the general population from the woes of the war and pretend it's happening "somewhere else".
