🐟 Mero Sighting & Fast-Moving Brittle Star – Night Dive in Fernando de Noronha 🌌🌊

time4 mo agoview1 views

During a night dive in the vibrant waters of Fernando de Noronha, I first encountered a majestic mero (Atlantic goliath grouper), calmly resting in its rocky hideout. As the dive continued, I stumbled upon something much smaller – but just as fascinating.

Suddenly, a brittle star (Ophiuroidea) came into view, quickly scuttling across the reef wall with surprising speed. These elusive echinoderms may look like starfish, but their agility sets them apart.

This dive was full of unexpected moments – from the massive presence of the grouper to the quick dash of this spiny little creature. Nature never ceases to amaze, especially under the glow of a dive light in the dark ocean.
