Mellite - Tutorial - Part 12: Measuring impulse responses

time10 mo agoview2 views

Introduction to the Mellite computer music environment. Part 12: Measuring impulse responses. This uses a workspace available in the Mellite downloads, which provides a widget for the entire measurement process (behind the scenes FScape and Proc are combined, but this is not shown in detail). The video starts with a general introduction how IR measurement with sine sweeps works.

This is based on Mellite v2.46.0. See https://www.sciss.de/mellite/ for details.

I didn't pay attention to the main window audio settings, the main volume is a bit down, and more importantly the limiter is engaged which adds to I/O latency. You will want to disable the limiter for these types of tests.

(apologies for some sound volume problems, this is thanks to the bug ridden Open Shot video editor)
