Hi, my name is David Revoy and I'm not really used to do speaking videos. So, all excuse in advance about my french accent, or the way I'm spelling english.
Very soon Krita 2.9 will be released with a set of new features, and I wanted to do a video to show you them. I will focus on two main features and their effect when combined together, made of very specific action to accelerate a lot the coloring process of an artwork Let me present you how you can use them.
First, you'll need to clean your line art. I'll not explain it again here because I made a tutorial about it in the past, you'll find the link on the comment bellow. http://www.davidrevoy.com/article239/cleaning-blue-lines-sketch-in-krita
When your line-art is ready, select your lines and then go to the filter menu and open GMIC. GMIC has many filters and we are looking for the coloring[interactive] one under the Black and White categorie. Now you need to setup the filter. Change the type to Lineart, request an output with 2 layers ; your lines and the colors , then press OK
The Gmic interactive filter interface appears now on your screen. The filter is more optimised to work with a mouse. Select a color then add a color-node with a normal left click on the canvas. Add many markers to set your colors , if you need a preview of what the filter will do , you can request a temporary render anytime by pressing the spacebar.
To remove a node, right click on it To pick the color of a zone , right click on the a colored area. To replace a color, press R , then change the color to a new one. You can also press Tab on your keyboard to switch to smaller nodes.
Let's work on this artwork now and finish it.
When your work is over, press 'Enter' to do the final rendering.
Your color zone and your line-art should appear in the layer stack of Krita. You can reorganise them now, and polish the coloring with brushes.
Now that's the end of the part 1 , in the second part we will see how to chain this amazing filter with another new feature to colorize our artwork in really fast way.
