I'd been intending this tweak for about a year. I finally chose a truss rod cover that I thought could compliment the guitar. Unfortunately it was smaller than the plain black plastic cover that I'd removed and none of the screw holes matched. I could think of no option but to glue it. I never like removing guitar strings though I think it would have been the wise option for a task such as this. After a long week and a long day I hurriedly placed the new cover by eye, without measuring, fixing it with dabs of superglue.

What I thought was my ingenious 'using tweezers to slip it into place' method resulted - almost inevitably - in superglue going everywhere.
