This is a 15-minute free jazz-inspired audio-visual collage film. The visuals were created by cutting up footage from an amateur student film I made mixed with a few city symphony films from the 1920s and 1930s and stitching it together in the abstract and Frankensteinian way the final product became. The densely layered avant-garde soundtrack is similarly Frankensteinian in construction. It was partially inspired by John Cage's Williams mix. It's meant to fuse jazz with electronic music and musique concrete. In fact, the soundtrack was constructed from an audio recording of a jazz concert I attended on my birthday. Some might say this is nothing more than pretentious and self-indulgent drive, to which I say "go fuck yourself".
