1-Hour Highway Ambience

This was recorded on March 31 (the same day Synthetic Harmony was released) on a highway near where I live. Some of this recording was used on "High Voltage (Road-rage)" from Music for a '90s Cool Film and Terra Symphony. I then digitally processed the audio with different effects like filter delay and echo room. If you listen carefully, you can hear music from the likes of Muse, Cocteau Twins, and The Killers. This is because I have a habit of blasting music loud and some of it ended up in this recording. In a way, it kinda adds to the verisimilitude of the piece, like someone is listening to the radio or Spotify while driving, though I actually use YouTube Music. I personally haven't listened to the radio since around 2018 and only use Spotify (if at all) for podcasts. I actually recorded two different versions in case YouTube's Content ID system came after this, with this version meant to be exclusive to Patreon.

The footage was shot at different points in May and June. I then edited in Premiere Pro, using effects like VR chromatic aberration, noise, len distortion, and digital glitch. I used Dip to White as the main transition, though I forgot to add a transition between the fourth and fifth scene. The total runtime is about 5 minutes, which I looped 12 times to make it an hour. If you notice an awful droning sound towards the end of each loop, it's because I was experimenting with Premiere Pro's audio effects. I also didn't mute the footage's audio (possibly to further obscure the music) so the sound is a bit layered together. The gif that makes up the thumbnail was taken during the June shoot and edited in Photoshop. Some of the unused footage from the May shoot would be used as the basis for 1-Hour Technicolor Dreamscape.

But anyway, why not kick back your shoes to enjoy some nice and relaxing highway sounds.
