For the first time, "Anima Mechanicae: Soul of the Machine" was performed live in its entirety in front of an audience at the first annual Chamber Music Festival at the University of Redlands, hosted by ASTA--performed by the "Hill Street Quartet", featuring Sarah Wallin Huff and Irene Shiao on violins, violist Rachel Fabulich, and cellist Anne Sherrill. I was extremely privileged to have a group of really talented ladies willing to devote so much effort and time to it! The work depicts the tale of an advanced computer program who has been given a chance to experience human emotions. It is dedicated to the computers and robots of the future, who long to dream as the humans do.
