Commissar's Contrapasso is another game by Blondbraid set in the universe of Sniper and Spotter ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY084UlMLMo ) during the great patriotic war in Soviet Russia and it fits right in. The graphics are even better than in the previous instalments of the so to say series and a lot of work has gone into these. The backgrounds tell a great story themselves and show the vast motherland but also the horrors and destructed cities in wartimes. The characters look lovely in their comic look and they have lots of emotions expressed though their faces and postures. The puzzles in the game are rather easy and complement the story, the game has been called an interactive novel by some, and it is very linear and story heavy, with lots of fun (and be warned sometimes macabre) jokes on war and how soldiers were treated in the red army. You can watch this longplay as you would watch a cartoon, but while just watching, the interactivity gets lost, so get a clue and play the game yourself. The character development (especially of the cowardish, desk working, title giving commissar) is fun to watch and also how Victor is right in the end with everything he says at the beginning.

Synopsis: Commissar's Contrapasso is a story about an arrogant soviet commissar who follows the official doctrines of the party with little regard for the simple soldiers beneath him, until he finds himself caught alone behind enemy lines that is.
What follows is a darkly humorous adventure with many strange turns. Whether or not the commissar will make it out alive depends on you, the player.
If you like this game, please also try my earlier game, Sniper and Spotter being patriotic, as it has similar themes and setting!
