This week I rented a Camper Van (Volkswagen California) and used it to drive through central Germany, visiting potential Clients along the way. I went to Wittenberg, to Braunschweig and to Weimar. I drove the van through the Harz forest and slept mostly at truck stops at night. The back bench inside the van could be converted into a bed. I brought some sheets and a pillow from home, so it was ALMOST like sleeping in my own bed. It was just a little cramped because the length of the bed was too short for me, so I had to sleep diagonally to make me fit. But it was alright. The camper had even a fridge and a gas stove, so at night I was able to heat up some canned food which was great. The camper also had heating, so even with the engine off it never got cold inside. Though I had to tinker around with it to find the correct setting, because it was easier a little too cold or way too hot like in a Sauna. But I suppose those are luxury problems, when the temperature outside went down to 5°C at night. In summary, it was a really cool experience.
