The movie shots the setup for the Cascadia model used for my research. It is made with the Geodynamic World Builder and the grid is build with ASPECT. The top image shows the compositions in different colors, where green is the North American crust, blue is the Pasific crust, red is the lithosphere below the crust and orange, yellow and aqua are the northern, central and southern weakzones. The purple colors is where initial strain is applied. The lower part shows a temperature contour of 1600 K, and colored by depth. Note that theedges of the model are all set to be the same as the Pasific to allow for open boundaries (e.g. boundaries prescribed by lithostatic pressure).
