Head of Ukraine HUR general Kyrylo Budanov visited Snake Island and "Boyko towers" on the Black Sea, inspecting Ukrainian posts there and handing medals to their defenders. Snake Island has been briefly controlled by Russian forces in 2022 who were forced to retreat from there after sinking of Russian "Moskva" cruiser and continued shelling of the island by Ukrainian artillery. The "Boyko towers" are defunct gas mining platforms, located strategically on the Black Sea and interchangeably occupied by Russian and Ukrainian forces, as they serve as excellent intelligence points to control traffic on the Black Sea. As a reminder, on 28 February 2022 the the mad Russian philosopher Aleksandr Dugin posted the now famous statement: "Our boys have captured Snake Island. Snake Island in the Black Sea plays a key role in sacred geography, according to Vasile Lovinescu (Geticus). It was the site of the most ancient sanctuary of Apollo. Whoever controls Snake Island, controls the course of world history."
