In this episode we get to dry fit our new Bow Roller, this is much larger so that our 30kg SPADE anchor can be stored on it. Here we finish the preparation and fit the last FR4 plate (high density, fireproof Epoxy and Fibreglass boards) bedded on thickened epoxy. We are refitting a 44 year old Rival 38 for a Sustainable Sailing retirement in a few years. Two years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings. We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all electric (motor, cooking etc). Now that the inside is dry (thanks to new windows, new hatches and leak chasing) we are fitting her out for live-aboard world cruising.
