After dulling more metal-cutting blades than I would have liked, I decided it was time to build a speedometer for my bandsaw.
I started this project intending to adapt an Arduino-based speedometer for a bicycle to my saw, but all of the projects I found online were too glitchy for my tastes, so I started this from scratch. (This is actually the first Arduino sketch I've ever written that was not made of copied and pasted code!)
This project makes use of a salvaged LCD screen, a hall-effect sensor, and the new Arduino Nano Every, which Arduino sent me to try out.
