The Third wish is quite a cool game made for a gamejam with a mean time constraint. The beautiful backgrounds of a desolate red rocky planet with added technological machinery set the setting and the tone but actually are only there for a simple intro until the horrors unfolds. The horror story part is adapted from an age old horrorstory from 1902, it feels weird in this setting but it worked and kept me playing. The puzzles in the game are easy but also weird. I mean, it makes sense that the cats eat the power couplings and then leave them behind afterwards, but also not as they chewed up the intact cable and not one with couplings, but that kind of thought made you visit all the nice screens again, that is probably the reason this is in the game... As mentioned the backgrounds looks very sweet in their painterly pixelart style and the characters remind me of the classic The dig with their orange worker clothes and their animations look fluid though when they talk they get a giant mouth sometimes. The overall atmosphere is pretty cool, from the scifi start to the horror at the end, and of course the music helps with that and is very fitting.

Today is like any other in the lives of Mr. and Mrs. White but tonight they entertain a guest with a particular artifact that will test the limit of their belief in fate.
