283 HOW WE KNOW WE'RE ALIVE (Unity) Free Melancholic Pixel Art Point and Click Adventure Game Story IF

"How we know we're alive" won 2 awards in sweden and indeed it looks lovely and the storytelling is strong, but I am missing the puzzles, some obstacles in your way. It plays straight forward, even blocking your way when going the wrong direction to keep you on track, you are basically reading a good graphic novel with sweet pixelart visuals and a great soundtrack. And that is pretty much good enough to feature the game here, though it doesn't need a walkthrough. It is great in all aspects except for the non existing puzzles. Not even the slightest. Well, you don't have an inventory, but that doesn't stop games from having good puzzles. The dialog options are choices that lead to 1-2 different sentences in the dialogs but don't change anything on the outcome of the game, it is just a way to "play" the game emotionally, to signal to the unresponsive game how you feel your character should feel. But all in all the game is beautiful and you could totally click through in the same time it takes to watch the video and experience it firsthand...

Synopsis: Welcome to Härunga – a small industrial town in the bible belt of the mid–north of Sweden. You play as Sara, an aspiring writer who, after having been away for 10 years, returns home in order to investigate the tragic fate of her estranged best friend.

The days grow short quickly this far up north – and the rain never seems to let up...

Lovingly crafted and richly animated, explore the melancholy atmosphere of a small town that time seemingly forgot.

Meet old friends and enemies and piece together the mystery of what happened after your friendship tragically fell apart.

As in life, what you say will impact things in hidden ways and not everything may be as it seems. Who is telling whose truth and can you know the difference?
