After "Billy Masters was right" comes the next great adventure game from creators Postmodern Adventures. And wow, what a ride through hell this adventure is! LA is in flames through the Rodney King Riots and this is the background while you play the cop John Barker, who, together with his partner Al Jackson meets all kind of interesting characters on the search for 2 kidnapped kids. The search even brings you to a museum of the supernatural and UFOlogy, I'm sorry, I didn't click all the items on display in the museum to bring out all the responses to all the things in the museum, the game thankfully tells you there is nothing more to do here other than take a stroll through the museum, play the game yourself to read it all, which you should anyway, as the story is very engaging. But the downside is, the game is VERY wordy, but that gives so much space for character development, that really works. The dialogues are really well written and spot on for the characters, that gives the game so much depth. The graphics are in a very cool retro blocky pixel art style, like some old Sierra AGI adventure with EGA color depth in low resolution, but still every room in the game is lovely and there is a lot to discover and just to click on. The close up portraits of the characters seem like they are made with higher resolution than the rest of the game but still with limited EGA-like color palette and cool dithering, a joy for pixel enthusiasts! Some animations are very basic, some are really cool, especially really close to the end of the game... The puzzles are cool and well integrated into the story, really well done! The music is taken from the free collection of Eric Matyas and really well chosen and fits the many locations you can visit in the game. What are you waiting for, play that game now!!!
