Russian military doctor and blogger Yuri Yevich evades questions about "when Kursk region will be liberated" by building up hopes of his followers that not only Kursk will be liberated some day but also Baltic states, Poland, Azerbeijan and other "hostile" neighbours. Yevich directly states that Poland is a former Russia's "property", as are the Baltic states, parroting an imperial narrative popular among Russian nationalists. Yevich gained fame in 2016 when he published a book "In Donbass trenches" in which he very openly described how he tortured Ukrainian prisoners of war using his medical experience for more effect. One of his victims was Ukrainian officer Roman Svitan who confirmed Yevich's confession as his former victim.
