Xbox Live Arcade was originally pitched to Microsoft execs by Greg Canessa in 2004 - and very nearly didn’t happen! The project was saved by J Allard, who then subsequently announced it onstage at E3 2004 and launched it on the OG Xbox. There were 27 original Xbox Live Arcade games - distributed on disc - with some real lost gems that would never be seen again.
