My work provides an optimistic view of technology’s role in shaping our identity and relationships with each other. The subjects are strangers to me, just as they are to the viewer of the finished work. Being a visual artist, I use my eyes to learn about the person, and in the process find commonalities between us. Knitting (a form of binary code) is included because of its continuous flow of fibers that mirrors our interconnectedness as people. These pieces are created using new and old machines. Incorporating technology in the process reflects my life with metal implants; as I am a balance between organic and inorganic so should my art. #drawing #art #knitting #digitalart #creativereels #digitalartforbeginners #arttiktoks #artandcraft #artist #knittingforbeginners #knittingmachine #knittingdesigns #drawingdog #dogdrawing #artstudio #artstudiotour #portraitart #womandrawing #mandrawing #lifedrawing
I think it’d be so cool if students were required to study all forms of creative expression instead of focusing so strongly on literature. I’m not trying to put down literature I’m trying to raise up other forms of expression and communication. So my local high school requires students to take literature all 4 years. However students are only required 1 semester of fine or performing arts. And This just doesn’t make sense to me…. Because to me Visual art is the best form of communication. I learn and share easier with that than literature and for others it might be music or dance or theater. I appreciate the importance of non-fiction reading and writing which of course gets covered in other classes like history and social studies. I just don’t understand why fiction literature is considered superior form of communication over other creative mediums. What if that requirement was changed to taking 4 years of creative expression and the classes included a critical analysis of all forms of communication through the arts. The format could stay the same but students could hear the voices of sculptors, painters, choreographers, composers etc….as well as fiction writers.
