Under Sarah's Bed

This was my first ever short film, made sometime in 2006. Then, I was mostly a writer and someone encouraged me to go for directing, so I bought a miniDV camera (which I ended up never using at all!) and started to shoot stuff. This was shot with a friend's camera, also a miniDV. I wanted it to be a one-minute film, following some advice I read somewhere about how to start out as a filmmaker, and without any dialogue. The rule was one-page of script equals one minute, but they didn't tell me it doesn't apply for all action films. So I wrote one page of all action, and in my naivety, as I edited, the film was way longer than one minute, and I thought, why not speed it up.... I made the monster by cutting out teeth and eyes in a cardboard and shinning a light from behind. Well, this brings fond memories of how I started, and it has many elements of how I love making films today. I think if it was a feature length film it would have been a great pick for #monsterdon (Maybe I should write a proper blog post about this film)
