Open Source Lifestyle

I've largely left the world of corporate tech behind, from online services to gadgets. Now I am living the open source lifestyle. I have at least as much fun tech as the average geek, but with more privacy and less chances of having the rug pulled out from under me by companies jerking me around with prices & fees or abandoning their products and customers. I care a lot about usability. Old open source projects weren't easy to use. Some still aren't. But this is changing, and I am being part of this change. Clearly I run open source software and hardware, but I also contribute to it, build it, and help others who are interested in breaking free from the grips of big, predatory tech companies.
