Two ads caught my attention recently because of what they say about the state of the bicycle industry. One is from industry giant Trek, and another from an upstart crowdfunding campaign around a bike called the Babymaker. Both in their own way illustrate a problem that I've long worried about in the bike industry -- the industry has not put enough effort into promoting everyday urban cycling -- but both of these ads give me hope for the future.

And yes, that's chain grease on my fingers. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
